a/n: it had to be done.
he’s not an actor, and it was pretty obvious from the get go of rehearsals and going through lines he was just on because he won the Super Bowl. and don’t get it wrong, you absolutely loved the chiefs and getting to meet travis, but the man was not an actor and he couldn’t act if it could save his life.
“you don’t like one line coming from my mouth don’t you?” was the first thing he said to you after your break at lines. he could see your disgusted face and you trying to hide your laughs. it was obvious to him.
stifling out a nervous laugh you asked, “what? where did you get that from?”
“your emotions are all on your face, y/n.” he rested his hands on his hips and you knew you weren’t getting away from this one. you got yourself in trouble with, handsome, tight end—and you were certainly thankful for your emotions to allow this conversation to happen. you practically had been eyeing him since he walked in.
sighing, you gave in to his request, “you’re just too uptight when you do your lines. nobody cares that much if you mess them up or quite frankly, even if you make a fool of yourself.“
“well I care, it’s going on national television. maybe you can help me out tonight? get better? I could use a hot coach.” his words made the color red flush across your cheeks and he laughed, he enjoyed seeing you on the receiving end of being flustered.
“fine, what do I get in return for helping you?” you batted your eyelashes extra hard in hopes this plead will you get you something.
chuckling he shook his head adjusting the hat on his head, “you’ll get to say you spent the evening with Travis kelce.”
you hummed an unamused response to that comment while rolling your eyes, “I was thinking more like season tickets, but that’ll do.”
—
after a long night already or doing lines, you spent more time in your office reading lines with Travis. he was getting a lot better as time went on, and you were impressed—sure it wasn’t Oscar worthy performing, but it was something to work with.
“so you think I’m ready for Saturday night?” he asked after the final run through, and you both were getting ready to leave long after you were supposed to.
“it’s better than it was before, but with more practice Friday you could be amazing by Saturday.” you turned to face him, a smile on his face at your words. just a couple of hours ago you couldn’t hold back a laugh, and now you both could go through lines without an interruption.
“so then I’ll see you tomorrow. same time?”
you chuckled at his response. how cute, “Travis, we always meet for the same time for rehearsals.”
he stifled out a laugh closing some of the space between you both, “oh I meant same time with you, baby girl. I don’t care about the rest of the cast.”
your eyes couldn’t pull away from every inch of his face. you took in every crease and line his smile made. it made butterflies run through your stomach. “well yeah we can arrange that.”
“good, can’t wait.”
